One more for today. I made this from wood, wire, glass lenses, a mirror, rubber latex, matches, and a floodlight. Prometheus can never deliver fire to humanity because the lenses reduce the heat of the bulb; the matches never light. Regrettably, I think this sculpture was lost somewhere along the line :(

Sit. Sat. Seated.
Sought the purple crush
Often heard in
Glaring, crumpled tones
Loose against the windows of my ride
While driving
To the high point in town.

Rush. Rushed. Running.
To far away… and on fumes.
Hiding, seeking fantasy
Bumps on
Through tit-for-tat talks
Deep into our nights.

Hold. Held. Having.
Insipid recipes and
Chemistry experiments.
Sipping wine
To warm icy bones
For dancing and bending in time.

Freeze. Frozen. Frigid.
What better vision than rigid?
Halted harmony.
Shins splinted to table-legs.
Weighted by thinking.
Merely unimproved
And not even shrinking.

Win. Won. Wondering.
Too thoughtful for success.
Brought into solid
Frontal-lobe framing
By the droning joke
That there might very well be
Nothing to win.
